Sandy was rescued from a feral colony at the Stockton Airport on January 11, 2019. Sandy is just under two years old. Sandy was very shy and reserved but is doing really well in her foster home. She took some time to get used to her new surrounds and may need to once adopted. As you can see by her pictures, she makes herself very comfortable. When her foster parents are home, she has full access to the house. She roams around the house. Although she does not actively jump into their laps yet, they can pick her up and put her into their laps. They hold her until she relaxes which is taking less time every day. She then starts her V8 and purrs like you never heard before. She settles in and becomes a total lap cat. She is now comfortable to take her nap which is an amazing experience for her foster parents. Sandy was no comfortable enough to play with toys at first as she was guarded. These guards have since gone done and she is tapping into her kitten side. This is a HUGE step for any kitty that was as shy as her. She loves wadded up pieces of paper, catnip mice and the laser pointer. It is quite fun for her foster parents to hear her zipping through the house. With all of these qualities shining through on an adult cat that was rescued from a feral cat colony it is believed by our rescue group that she must have been owned at some point in her life. She is now learning to trust humans again and allowing human love back into her life. Sandy will do best in a quiet home so she can continue to let these beautiful qualities emerge. She needs to be an indoor only cat. Sandy has been around another cat, a dog and a rabbit in her foster home.
Adoptions are at the Petco in Fairfield, 1370 Holiday Lane, on Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and adoptions twice a month at the Petco in Novato. Because all of our cats are in foster homes, not all cats come to adoptions every weekend.
