rescued from a balcony in Concord - Johnny got sick and the family took him to the emergency vet on 6/28. The vet said he has an infection in his leg bone and wanted to do an emergency amputation. The family brought him back to us as they did not feel like their home would be a safe environment for the kitten since he would only have three legs. That vet also wanted $7500 for the amputation and to keep him overnight. The family already spent a lot of money already on him. We decided it was best to return him to us. He was taken to Jenessa house and she took him to Dr. Balboni today. Dr. Balboni went over the x-rays, the tests, the notes and even spoke to the emergency clinic vet. He determined that the leg does not need to be removed. He switched his antibiotics and will check his lab work in a couple of days to see how Johnny is responding. For now, I am not marking him as returned because we think the family may want him back as soon as we get him healthy. 6/29/20
