This darling little girl I discovered at the shelter, she had 7 newborns too. They were going to be euthanized that day.
She was picked up as a pregnant stray, sick, starving and dehydrated. You could see every bone in her body.
She delivered her 7 babies while at the shelter during the "hold" period.
I brought her and her family home, and as much as she wanted to care for the babies, she was just too far gone..They were very small, obviously born premature due to stress and all.  So despite my efforts, one by one, they all died.
This left her more depressed, she just gave up. She had lost everything, her home she once knew, the lost feeling, starving, pregnant, then sick, caged waiting to be killed.
Then all her babies....
I took her to the emergency clinic where they convinced me she would likely not recover, and the humane thing to do was to euthanize her. She could hardly stand, and weighed 5 pounds.
I signed the form, and just couldn't do it. This poor cat deserves a chance. Take it day by day. It's not her fault.
That is the moment I gave her the name Hope :)
After nursing her with meds, syringe feeding her, and tons of love, she started eating on her own again. She seemed to start living for the love she missed so much.
It's been 2 months now-Hope has gained lots of weight, is completely well, bright emerald green eyes, (they didnt show up well in pics) soft thick and shiny fur, playful and amazing! Her occasional meow sounds like a baby lamb. She is happy to be alive and well again! Quite the personality.
So despite her odds, she beat death twice!
Hope is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, deflead and tested neg. for FIV and FELV.
After being through so much in her young life, (she is only about 1 yr old) she is ready and waiting for her new, forever loving home, and will make a wonderful companion!
She is at my home in Vallejo and can be met here. I have not taken her to our adoptions venue as of yet, I would rather not put anymore stress on her, she's had enough.
If you have an interest in meeting this awesome girl, please email oneawsomekittymom@yahoo.com.
